Technical Writer – SOP Development & Documentation Specialist

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support the creation of clear, consistent, and user-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a public sector client. This role will translate complex workflows and operational processes into structured, accessible documentation, ensuring consistency across all departments.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop clear, standardized SOPs and operational documentation based on process maps and stakeholder input
  • Ensure consistency in format, language, and structure across all documentation
  • Collaborate with project teams to accurately capture and translate workflows into user-friendly content
  • Review and edit materials for clarity, accuracy, and usability
  • Create supporting documentation, including job aids, templates, and training materials
  • Incorporate feedback and update documentation to reflect evolving requirements

 

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of technical writing or documentation experience
  • Experience developing SOPs, policies, or operational documentation
  • Strong writing, editing, and formatting skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly content
  • Experience supporting government or public sector clients
  • Familiarity with process documentation and workflow-based environments
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Word, SharePoint, or documentation platforms
